Discovery: New tools, guides, and games

Adorable little cat... with laser beams!
Busy week... Did not have free time to work on this (except this cat) nor study programming. I have ordered books such as Gaming Programming University, Object-oriented AS3, Foundations, to name a few.. Researched on some sources such as tutorials, 'portals' and even inspiration.

After exploring the internet, i stubbled upon jewels made by a small studio called Endless Fluff who makes brilliant 2d side scroll games. Two of which, Nimbus: Sky Princess & Valdis Story, are free while their first commercial game is Legend of Fae which is definite buy for $9.99.

Off to finish my final art projects. Next week, i'm hoping to post a simple Turn-by-Turn with a twist next week...

Research: Java or Flash

Its really hard to decide which i should use. I have all the flash tools i need but i have guidance in java... I also hear that flash is slower than java. Is that true?

Well in the end, I decided to use Flash. I'm also reading tutorials by chrismweb  which so far in Part 1 (slow reader..) is wonderful! Even an idiot like me can understand it! *ahem* Reading on..

Intro

I made this blog, or rather a journal on my journey of making my first game. Now I have no clue on how to use flash and my programming is very rusty... But other aspects of the game is a piece of pie, which will be the parts I'll happily share. I will likely share random things in this development blog but i'll try to resist from doing so. Good luck to me, I hope for the best that I will see the end product... and not suddenly quit in the middle of it...
